Recently, the 100,000th container of the CRE train's Caspian Sea crossing route arrived at the Aktau Port Container Hub in Kazakhstan, marking another milestone in the development of the Caspian Sea international transport corridor.

In July 2024, the CRE train's Caspian Sea direct express service was launched, with Chinese vehicles reaching the Caspian Sea port via direct road transport for the first time. This milestone signifies the gradual formation of a diversified, multi-modal connectivity network integrating road, rail, air and pipeline transportation.

As a key part of the Cross-Caspian Sea international transport route, the Aktau Port Container Hub project officially entered the implementation phase in September last year and is being built in two phases. Phase one covers 9.1 hectares, featuring three railway loading and unloading lines and approximately 690 ground slots. Equipped with advanced handling equipment, it enables full-process operations including container transfer, inspection and hazardous materials handling. The project is expected to be fully completed and operational by the end of this year. This hub will further improve China-Central Asia-Europe multimodal transport, reduce regional logistics costs, and strongly promote regional economic prosperity.
